Our Debit Card Management widget is a new feature designed to keep your account safer and more secure than ever before. When you access the widget within Digital Banking or the Connexus App, you'll find a variety of security options including customizable transaction alerts and the ability to freeze your card due to theft, loss, or fraud. With your security as our top priority, we look forward to adding more robust tools to the widget in the coming months — stay tuned!

How to set up debit card transaction alerts

To receive real-time alerts about transactions on your debit card, follow these steps:

  1. Step 1

    Log in to Digital Banking and select “Debit Card Management” from the left-hand menu on desktop or the menu in the Connexus App. (Tip: If you don't see it, click "More.")

  2. Step 2

    On mobile, swipe right or left to locate your debit card; on desktop, hover your mouse over the image of your card. Then click the green “Set up card” button.

  3. Step 3

    Select an Alert Delivery Method. Confirm that your mobile number (for text delivery), device type (for push notifications), or email address (for email delivery) is listed correctly.

  4. Step 4

    If you'd like to be notified of transactions over a certain amount as well as transactions that were declined on your debit card, select an Authorization Amount. If not, opt out of these alerts.

    Your transaction alerts will be activated immediately, so you can expect to start seeing alerts in real time.

How to freeze a debit card

To "freeze" your debit card in order to decline transactions due to loss, theft, or fraud, follow these steps:

  1. Step 1

    Log in to Digital Banking and select “Debit Card Management” from the left-hand menu on desktop or the menu in the Connexus App. (Tip: If you don't see it, click “More.")

  2. Step 2

    On mobile, swipe right or left to locate your debit card; on desktop, hover your mouse over the image of your card. Then click the green “Set up card” button and follow the instructions to register your debit card.

  3. Step 3

    Select the Freeze/Unfreeze Card option to freeze your debit card (which will decline all transactions) or unfreeze (which will enable transactions).

While the alerts you had previously set up for your debit card will no longer be active, it couldn’t be easier to use the Debit Card Management widget to set up new, robust alerts to keep your account more secure than ever before. Follow the steps listed on this page to get started.

Currently, you can improve the security of your debit card by signing up to receive real-time alerts for both declined transactions and transactions over a specified dollar amount of your choice. You can also use the widget to freeze your card so that it automatically declines transactions in cases of loss, theft, or fraud, and then unfreeze it to resume normal use. More exciting functionality is in the works to further protect your card and offer added convenience to using it, so please stay tuned!
